Vision and Values
Freedom Tri Vision and Values
It is our aim to be a fun and inclusive triathlon club run by its members, for its members.
Our values are openness, inclusivity, respect and enjoyment.
We will try to provide for our members:
- At least one coached swim, bike and run session per week throughout the year
- Further athlete-led sessions in each sport when possible
- From time to time, additional triathlon-related sessions such as strength and conditioning
- Access to the Pit during the summer
- Members-only events such as TTs, aquathlons, duathlons and triathlons throughout the year
- Organised participation in external events (such as River Arun swim, Bedford Relays)
- Entry to the mid-week and cross-country running leagues
- A club shop through which Freedom Tri branded kit can be purchased
- A comprehensive club app, using the ConnectMyClub platform, to help manage the club effectively and efficiently
- An annual awards party and other social events throughout the year
… all this for a modest membership fee which will only be increased if rising costs require it.
In return, all we ask of our members is:
- Please pay your membership fee promptly
- Try to support club events where you can by attending as many sessions as possible and volunteering from time to time
- Represent the club to the best of your ability
- If you are available, volunteer at the Duck n Dash (unless you are competing of course!)
- Behave in a supportive and friendly manner and adhere to the club’s values
- Enjoy being a part of the club!
As a club we will host one external event a year – the Duck n Dash. The success of this event helps us to attract new members, maintains our position as a valued part of the local community, and generates profits which help to keep the membership fee to a minimum. Please do try to get involved and support this event if you can.
Please always remember that everyone involved in running the club is a volunteer. Please treat them with respect and support their efforts to make Freedom Tri such a brilliant club. The various roles and responsibilities within the club are set out on the following pages.
